DEP is responsible for:
- administering federal Safe Drinking Water Act mandates as stipulated in the 2007 Filtration Avoidance Determination;
- providing financial resources and contract management to CCE and UC SWCD for stream management planning and project implementation;
- providing expertise in stream management related subjects;
- directing watershed and stream geomorphic assessments;
- regulating water quality and quantity in the Ashokan Reservoir watershed; and advocating for drinking water supply needs.
